Secured Credit Cards

Secured credit cards offer alot of flexibility and easier convenience. It is possible to purchase goods and services without carrying around large sums of hard cash or a cheque book and guarantee card. A few banks and building societies issue secured credit cards. These pay a fee to the card payment scheme(s) which allows them to issue cards with logos on representing the certain scheme(s). This allows customers access to over 14 million credit cards accepting shops and outlets worldwide. Goods and services can be purchased with a secured credit card wherever you see the corresponding logo that appears on your card. The cards can also be used to cash in advance by withdrawing from ATM's displaying the appropriate logo.

Secured credit card issuers can usually offer Visa or MasterCards. MasterCards can also bear the Eurocard symbol on the back which makes it usable in most of Europe.

Wihtin the UK, secured credit card companies offer cards which show with switch and visa logos. Visa cards can be used almost anywhere in the world where a Visa sign can be clearly seen. Many switch cards are now issued with the Maestro logo, which is part of the MasterCard network to also allow them to be used internationally. Visa launched an Electron debit card, this offers people greater security and control over their purchases, as all Electron transactions are authorised electronically.

Secured credit cards can be used to withdraw cash both in the UK and internationally. Cards can also have the logo of Link, Cirrus or Plus, which allows the use in ATM cash machines displaying that symbol, usually throughout the world.
